Are the practice papers available on Exambox suitable for all exam boards?
Unless we specify which exam board a particular exam bundle is for, you can assume that the exams are suitable for all UK exam boards which cover the subject and qualification the bundle relates to. Currently the only exam bundles we've published are for the UK GCSE Mathematics syllabus, and in this instance, the syllabi specified by each exam board are very similar indeed. For practical purposes therefore, these bundles can be considered to be equally suitable for all UK exam boards.
Who writes the exam papers and solutions that are available on Exambox?
The exam papers available to buy and download on this website are not written by the exam boards but by experts with a comprehensive experience of exam board specifications. This means that all the papers you can find here are completely original - you can't find them anywhere else - and complement the other resources available from exam boards.
What are the differences between mark schemes and worked solutions?
Mark schemes are published by exam boards to accompany their specimen papers to help teachers and examiners allocate the correct number of marks to each question. They are quite difficult to read and understand unless you know the subject matter very well and have experience in teaching and marking exams. For this reason, they are not very helpful for exam candidates. Worked solutions are, by contrast, detailed run-throughs of a model answer to the question. They not only help the candidate determine how many marks they scored in the exam, they also guide the candidate through the process they will need to succesfully answer each question when they come to a similar one in a real exam.
Do all of your exam papers come with worked solutions?
Yes. Unlike past papers available from exam boards, all of our question papers come complete with full worked solutions. Exam boards often have a policy of not providing solutions or even mark schemes for their past papers for the sake of fairness for those who sat the paper. We don't have the same restrictions on the papers we produce because they will be used for practice only, and not as real exams.
Why have you not released practice papers and solutions for more subjects or qualifications yet?
Don't worry, we have more plans in the pipeline! We'll post the latest news right here on the website.
What file format do you release your exam bundles in?
We publish our practice papers and solutions in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Acrobat Reader software is free to download here and the PDF format makes printing our bundles straightforward.
I am a teacher/tutor. Can I distribute your exam bundles amongst my students and other teachers?
Once you have purchased and downloaded an exam bundle from our website, you are free to print off papers and solutions and distribute them in paper format around your own school or institution at no extra cost. However, in order to preserve the future creation of papers and solutions by our experts, we ask that you do not distribute them outside your institution in any way, nor distribute them to anyone else (including within your institution) electronically.
Is your payment system secure?
Yes. Your purchases will be handled on the SSL-encrypted Paypal site, one of the most reputable ecommerce websites in the world.
Do I need to have a Paypal account in order to purchase from your website?
No. We use Paypal to process our payments but you do not incur any extra costs from using this service, and you are free to use any of a great number of credit or debit cards in order to complete your purchase.
How are the exam bundles delivered to me after purchase?
As soon as your purchase has been completed through Paypal, you will be taken to a page where you can immediately download your purchases, ready for immediate use. This means that you don't have to pay for extras like postage and packing, and just as importantly, you don't have to wait!
Do you offer a marking service for the exams available on this website?
No. There is no need to offer a marking service as you can mark your own exams by making use of the worked solutions that we include in every bundle. Our solutions are not simply mark schemes, which require a more advanced knowledge of the subject being examined. You can follow through the solutions and determine what you've got right and what you need to work on.
Can I expect good exam results if I purchase and study using your papers?
While we'd like to say "Yes!" to this question, we of course cannot guarantee you success in your own exams. If you work hard and use all the resources available to you, including your course notes, text books, exam board specimen papers, exams written by Exambox, and any of a whole host of other web-based resources, you stand a good chance of maximising your potential when it comes to sitting the real exam. We try our best to make sure our exams and solutions are accurate and suitable, but we can't be held responsible if we inadvertently mislead you through our papers. For more information have a look at our disclaimer.
